Nina Hendler, PT, DPT

Nina earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she contributed to ACL research and provided care to student-athletes. These experiences highlighted the importance of mentorship and education in sports rehabilitation and led her to pursue a sports residency. She went on to complete her residency at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, where she worked with athletes across all levels—from high school to professional—including those from the Joffrey Ballet and Chicago White Sox.

A Michigan native, Nina earned her undergraduate degree in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. While at the University of Michigan, she was a member of the women’s rowing team and served as a student manager for the women’s gymnastics team, where she developed a clinical interest in working with gymnasts. She also completed a strength and conditioning internship with the university’s Olympic sports teams, further shaping her understanding of athletic performance and injury prevention.

Her personal experience recovering from an ACL injury informs her holistic approach to rehabilitation—emphasizing not just physical recovery, but also the mental and emotional well-being of athletes. Nina is especially passionate about injury prevention and rehabilitation in women’s sports and has a special interest in endurance athletes, gymnasts, and ACL rehabilitation. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys watching sports, trying new restaurants, and running along the lakefront.
