I’m not sure where to start. I tore my ACL back in early 2019 and did therapy at a franchise clinic. After 6 months I was discharged from therapy and I realized my knee didn’t feel completely rehabbed. I lost a lot of muscle mass, strength, knee extension, and would walk with a limp.

Still dealing with those issues a year later, I luckily met Mary Kate and her team. Although I was hesitant about going back to therapy, I’m so glad I did! Despite needing to have an additional small corrective knee surgery, Mary Kate and her staff gave me a whole new perspective on therapy and my knee has improved by milestones! Jack has been my therapist since Mary Kate went on maternity leave and it was such a smooth transition! I’m very pleased with the results. Jack doesn’t rush the healing process and assures you’re ready before progressing your therapy. I feel very confident about returning back to playing sports with the way my knee has been healing. I wish I would’ve met them all sooner!

Here’s a before and after of my knee from my first day at PREP to today. I still have to grow more muscle mass but feels so much better!

Mary Kate Casey and her team are great. My daughter is a level 9 competitive gymnast and has been coming to Mary Kate on and off for years to address her sports related injuries including back and knee issues. She is well versed in all matters of youth related sports injuries and won’t give up until her clients can return to their sport pain free. From onsite PT to an online home program to dry needling you can get what you need. She is a true partner. Highly recommend.

100% honesty! Mary Kate saved my life. 3 years ago I had Spinal Fusion, S4,S5,L1 and L2. I was a wreck. My legs were killing me after the surgery, so much so that I thought the surgeon had done some damage. Mary Kate correctly diagnosed my pain as leg muscles and worked with me to fix my back and legs. We worked for 8 weeks,. 6 months later I had my first knee replaced and we once again did physical therapy and acupuncture to get me knee in shape. 9 months after that I had my second knee done. Same results with Mary Kate and her staff. My knee Doc says I am a poster child for knee surgery. I owe her my life back! Thanks MK!

Being an athlete for most of my life, I’ve suffered many injuries. Mary Kate and her team have everything you could need under one roof for physical therapy and performance. The knowledge and the tools that they have given me have gotten me through the recent ankle and knee pain of shin splints, back onto the treadmill running again at Orangetheory. This experience has by far been the best of the PT world that I’ve had… I felt that they truly optimized our time together, solving layers of issues to get to the root problem and equipping me with tools to use at home in my daily life to prevent future injuries. THANK YOU PREP!

Joe, PT at PREP Performance, is a gem in the PT world. He has a gift for soft tissue work and is an expert in the area of strength and conditioning. Both have been invaluable to me as Joe has been able to help me regain mobility in my mid-back and provide me with strengthening exercises that don’t increase back pain! ( It’s important to note that I’ve seen many PT’s in the past for this issue and never have I reached this point in overall function and strength). I highly recommend Joe especially if your goal is to get back on the court…or wherever your game takes you.

I first went to Mary Kate for PT before and after surgery for lower back pain. Mary Kate is a wonderfully intelligent therapist who has a real talent for zeroing in on what I needed most. The work we have and the things she has taught me have helped with injury prevention since then too. I even brought my mother, who is in her late 80s, to see Mary Kate. So her expertise spans generations! I’ve had a lot of physical therapy(@ Shirley Ryan,AndersonvillePT, Athetico) and the attention & care I got w/ Mary at PREP Performance is the best. Jack & Joe are great too!

As a college athlete, I cannot recommend PREP highly enough. Definitely the most individualized, patient-oriented physical therapy experience I’ve had in years and years of getting injured playing sports. In addition to helping me heal my current injury, they’ve been able to resolve muscle issues that have been with me for years. Not sure there’s a more accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable PT center in Chicago.

I worked with Joe Nelson after I tore my meniscus, opting not to pursue surgery. My experience with him has been excellent in all respects. He is very knowledgeable, prepared, engaged. He had my own specific goals top of mind and was able, in various respects, to meet me where I was at. He’s a good listener, and truly seemed interested in my physical pursuits and beyond. The center as a whole has a nice vibe… in short, a good place to work hard and to heal. I’m now just starting to work on running and hopeful that I will be able to return to running without surgery. So far so good.

I have been seeing Joe for about six months now and have been super impressed by his knowledge and work ethic. About three years ago I had a bladder augmentation surgery and lost my ability to control my pelvic floor muscles. Every week he comes up with new exercise to build up my core and work on strengthening those pelvic floor muscles through new and challenging exercises. I have seen great progress in the last six months compared to the 2 1/2 years after my surgery that I was not going to physical therapy. I can’t recommend Joe and his colleagues enough they have changed my life. For example, I can now go out and have dinner with family and friends and not worry about my bladder having a spasm this goes along with just working out and playing recreational sports. Each session is made just for you and different every time. PREP Performance Center treats you as family and not just another client. If you need physical therapy, you must try this place out.
